Julie Yu-Wen Chen is Professor of Chinese Studies in the Department of Cultures at the University of Helsinki. She serves as one of the editors of the Journal of Chinese Political Science. From 2023, she has been part of the European Union twinning project ‘The EU in the Volatile Indo-Pacific Region’, for which she leads the preparatory research and provides supervision and counselling to junior researchers. Chen was previously chair of the Nordic Association of China Studies and editor-in-chief of Asian Ethnicity.
